Casting My Cares

This morning I heard news that could have shaken me.
If I think upon it from my own limited, human viewpoint,
I could easily find myself worrying.
But what good does worry bring about?
None.

Does not the Maker of my days know what each moment holds?
Does He not see what tomorrow will bring?
Is there any thing that He does not control?

There. is. not.

And so, this morning, my spirit is comforted by words
written by the hand of Charles Spurgeon.

"Where else is there such a Beloved?
O for an hour's fellowship with Him!
Away, ye intruding cares!
Jesus draws me, and I run after him."

Father, I run after You.
Let me not dwell on what my human eyes can see,
but instead lift my gaze to Your loving face so that I may rest in thee.

Spurgeon just amazes me. He can say so much with so few words.
