Scriptures for Thursday

Last evening, our church recieved sad news
that the Bible College affiliated with us
will be closing it's doors at the end of this year.
We are so very saddened to hear of this development.
It is all too easy to look at something of this magnitude
and be overcome with fear and doubt.

But the God we serve is not the Author of fear.

We are commanded not to worry about tomorrow -
for our Shepherd holds all of our tomorrows in his hand.

As I go throughout my day,
thinking and praying for everyone affected by this situation,
The Holy Spirit brings these scriptures to mind.
They are passages that speak of hope
and remind me that God is in control.
Even when we don't know what the future holds,

HE DOES.

And that's all I need to know.

Psalm 73:25-26
Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Psalm 13:5-6
But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing to the LORD,
for he has been good to me.

Psalm 16:8
I have set the LORD always before me.
Because he is at my right hand,
I will not be shaken.

Psalm 63:3-4
Because your love is better than life,
my lips will glorify you.
I will praise you as long as I live,
and in your name I will lift up my hands.
