Daybook Entry

FOR TODAY...

Outside My Window...
gray clouds, heavy with pending snow lurk over our town
on the plains of Minnesota.

I am thinking...
that life with five children is beginning to find it's new routine.

I am thankful for...
my sweet husband who loves me dearly
and is such a huge help with our kids.
He is one of my richest blessings!

From the learning rooms...
oldest son and I are starting our Christmas break from school a bit early,
but will be finishing the book we started-
"Twenty and Ten".
Oh, and we are still thoroughly enjoying "Jotham's Journey",
which we are reading every night before bed
to celebrate this Advent season.

From the kitchen...
I am bound and determined to make some homemade bread this week.
I don't think I can stomach the store-bought stuff any more! :o)

I am wearing...
blue argyle (is that spelled right??) socks,
jeans and my favorite navy blue "Door County" sweatshirt.

I am creating...
I've begun knitting another handbag (mine!) -
starting off with a gorgeous shade of moss-green!
But I should REALLY be working on finishing up scarves for Christmas presents -
perhaps today will allow me a few moments to work on those...

I am going...
Monday night - coffee night at Starbucks with my girlfriends
Tuesday night - ladies activity for church
Wednesday night - Church and AWANA for the kids
Thursday night - hair cut appointment; dropping off two oldest boys at a birthday party
Friday night - (hopefully) my parents will be arriving for a weekend visit
to celebrate two nephews birthdays!
It's a busy week! :o)

I am reading...
through the Psalms and Proverbs and still enjoying my
"Morning and Evening" devotional by Charles Spurgeon

I am hoping...
that the homeopathy I'm using for my ear infection will work so I can hear
out of my left ear by the time I need to sing in our church choir
for the Christmas Contada this next Sunday!

I am hearing...
the kids playing (fairly) nicely
and the quiet hum of my computer as I type away.

Around the house...
I've got the first load of laundry going;
have cleaned our bathroom;
have put fresh linens on our bed;
everyone's fed and dressed for the day
and I'll soon be on my way to start that bread that I so desperately want to bake!

One of my favorite things...
my youngest sons infectious laughter! :o)

A picture thought I am sharing with you...

The kids after Thanksgiving dinner sitting on our couch horsing around after the "nice" picture was taken. :o)
From left to right:
nephew David (4 yrs); my youngest son Malachi (3 yrs); nephew Eric (4 yrs);
niece Leah (2 yrs) and my oldest son Cade (6 yrs)

May the Lord's healing hand be upon you so your ear infection can be gone and you feel better.

Have a blessed week.

I'm praying for your ear too! I really dislike not being able to hear--it throws my balance off.

On the bread note, have you ever thought of prepping it the night before and letting it rise over night?

That way you only have to punch it down and let it rise one (or two) more times while you have "littles" around you.

Just a thought...

Hi Sarah, thanks for coming by... there is no email link on your profile. If you email me I can give you info about what I do for the bread.

If you go to my daily blog at mishmashmaggie.com there is an "Email Me" button.

Thanks!

Wonderful, Wonderful friend,
You are the picture of Grace with those kiddos... you are doing wonderfully.. God gave you this job because.. well he knew YOU could do it ;) I know there are days and well there will be, but our God is bigger.... even than a little child's will and some days that is massive :)
Love you and pray for you daily
