Value of a Smile

Yesterday I found this quote in the cookbook
my Mom made for me and I thought
it was worth sharing...
The Value of a Smile

My oldest nephew who is living with us

It costs nothing, but creates much.

My youngest son climbing into the playground "fort"

It enriches those who receive,
without impoverishing those who give.

Papa (my Dad) and my oldest son in the playground "fort" in our backyard

It happens in a flash
and the memory of it sometimes lasts forever.

My niece who is living with us

It is rest to the weary,
daylight to the discouraged
and sunshine to the sad.

my oldest son sitting at our table on the patio

Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed
or stolen...

My youngest nephew who is living with us

for it is something that has no earthly value...

L-R: my youngest Brother, me and my Mom on my 30th birthday weekend

until it is given away.

L-R: my Mom, my youngest Brother and me during the above-mentioned weekend.
